The Extra 300 receives its LBA type certificate on May 16, 1990.
The ’90 FAI World Aerobatic Championship demonstrated the true popularity of Extra Aircraft based on its performance, presentation, and preferred flying characteristics for aerobatic competitors with sixteen (16) pilots representing the brand flying the Extra 230, Extra 260, and Extra 300. Three Extra aircraft round out the top ten overall with Peter Anderson placing 6th with his Extra 230 (N286PA), Christian Schweizer placing 8thwith his Extra 230 (N9750N), and Clint McHenry placing 10th with his Extra 300 (N540CM).
Following an impressive performance internationally, Peter Anderson won the U.S. National Aerobatic Championship Unlimited title in ’90 with his Extra 230.
