Approximately a year later, Walter Extra completed his first Extra 230. A single-seat mid-wing monoplane with a wooden wing, four-cylinder Lycoming 230hp engine, and a two-blade prop. This would be the first of sixteen (16) Extra 230s that were produced until production concluded in ’90. The Extra 230 will serve as the foundation for all future Extra Aircraft designs, with each evolution delivering more performance while enhancing features to make the pilot and owner experience better.
