On July 17th, 2008, Extra Aircraft announces the EASA certification of the EXTRA 330SC. The SC represents the ultimate in performance for competition and air show performers, based on the learnings from the development of the Extra 300SHP. The 330SC has an empty weight of 1,291 pounds and a wingspan of 24.6 feet. It is powered by a Lycoming AEIO-580-B1A of 315 hp which swings a MT MTV 9-B-C/C 198-25 three-blade propeller.

In parallel, certification is granted by EASA for various upgrades to the Extra 300L, including a transition to the AEIO580-B1A and increase in fuel capacity.
